Empowered kids, when given the right tools, take ownership of giving in their communities. These capable little humans do everything from pinpointing needs to organizing and executing events. Others can show up at a planned event and participate. Parents will often comment: “the kids leave these events full of life and energy.”
Teens take on leadership roles — delegating jobs to younger volunteers, facilitating the setup or establishing a schedule or process. They learn how to effectively lead a successful event, lead others, how to strategically plan for an upcoming event and how to coordinate activities that produce results. In other words, they learn entrepreneurial skills at a young age.
These events give parents a chance to watch their kids in action. Events like these instill a sense of selflessness and philanthropy.
